OPERA HOUSE.
“I LOVED YOU WEDNESDAY.” “I Loved You Wednesday,” the Fox romance from the successful stage play of the same name, proves itself a satisfying piece of entertainment. As it was unfolded from the screen of the Grand Theatre, Hawera, last evening it showed itself to bo one of those all-too-rare instances in motion pictures whore all elements combine for happy results It screens finally at the Opera House'to-night With Warner Baxter, Elissa Lantil, Victor Jory, Miriam Jordan and Laura Hope Crews in the cast the film has an array of actors who’know their business in every stage of the cinematic art. The play from which the film is adapted was haded as a piece of writing with the markings of brilliance. The story centres about the uncertainty of affections of Miss Landi in. the role of a ballet dancer. First she concentrates all her love on Victor Jory, and when he turns out to /be a philandering husband on a mar%'iage holiday, she finds consolation m •the* honest adoration of Baxter, a ' strong “big time” engineer. The popular Aldwycli Theatre players add further to their laurels in “Thark,” a delicious comedy which will have its initial presentation at the Opera House to-morrow. It will screen for a season of four nights, with matinees daily. Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn are at their best in tlie principal j roles, and with them appear Robertson Hare Mary Brough and Claude llulbert. ’ A feature of the supporting programme will be “Vi th Cobhani to Kivu,” a film of aerial discovery. The box plans are now open at Miss Blake’s.

“THE DEVIL’S IN LOVE.”
“The Devil’s in Love,” the new Fox film to be shown at the Grand Theatre to-morrow and on Monday, is a production of rapid action and delightful' romance. It is developed against a glamorous background and moves from the intrigue of foreign military seivice to the pot-pourri in a town of forgotten men From the seething centies of seaport entertainment it shifts to the pastoral charm of a mission A mad ride over desert sands takes it to a Legion fort for a sensational climax of an attack by the natives. Victor Jor v has the featured role. Ihe female load opposite him is portrayed by the charming Loretta Young, and the supporting cast includes such noted players as Vivienne Osborne, David 'Manners, C. Henry Gordon, Herbert Mundin, Emil Chautard and J. Carrol Naish. “Mystery Ranch,” starring George O’Brien, will also bo presented.
