TWO MORE, MEN FINED. BOARD OUTSIDE RACECOURSE. (By Telegraph—rress Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 9. When two more men were fined today for playing Crown and Author in Alatipo Street on Tuesday between races at the Metropolitan Trots, a detective said that in addition to ordinary people collected in the streets and watching the races over the fence at the back of the racecourse there were bookmakers, spielers and persons debarred by statute from admission to the course. There would be approximately 400 people by the fence. Witness had been there five minutes when he was “spotted” by a bookmaker, the recognition being mutual and the crowd broke up immediately.

The magistrate, Mr. Mosley, fined one man £lO and another £5. Both had previous convictions.
