j GRAND THEATRE. “I LOVED' YOU WEDNESDAY.” “I Loved You Wednesday,” the Fox romance, will be presented at the .Grand Theatre, Hawera, to-night and at the Opera House to-morrow. The cast is a prominent one, with Warner Baxter, Elissa Landi, Victor Jory, Miriam Jordan and Laura Hope Crews in the featured roles. Here is something new in motion pictures—a flood tide of emotion pounding against the rawness of nature in the process of being tamed. The love of an orchid of the footlights for a man who has pitted himself against nature, haunted by a former infatuation, harassed by the presence of another woman. The screen outdoes itself with a dramatisation of man’s work at Boulder Dam, and the presentation of the Dance of the Maidens, one of the most elaborate spectacles ever seen in motion pictures. The direction is by Henry King from the screen play by Molly Ricardel and William Du Bois. Philip Klein j and Horace Jackson did tiie adaptation for the screen. OPERA HOUSE. “THARK.”
Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn, with the over-popular Aldwyeh Theatre players, whose triumphs in “Rookery Nook” and “Plunder” will long be remembered, will make a further appearance at the Opera House on Saturday iu “Thark,” the Ben Travers farce which recently ran for weeks at the Paramount Theatre, Wellington. “Thark” will be presented for a season of four nights, with matinees daily at 2 p.rn. Lovers of good entertainment are booking from all over the province for this special attraction.
