COMPLAINT IN HOUSE
DISTRACTION DURING SPEECH MINISTER’S ATTENTION DRAWN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 8. Mr W. E. Parry (Lab., Auckland Central) complained in the House of Representatives to-day that while he was speaking there were some members who should be sufficiently interested in the measure before the House to ensure that the points being made were grasped by members of the Ministry and who were art that time claiming Ministerial attention. “They should know better,” he said. “They should not be so ignorant of the rights of other members.”
At the Speaker’s direction Mr Parry withdrew the word “ignorant” and substituted ‘‘inconsiderate.” Mr D. CL. Sullivan (Lab., Avon) rising to a. point of order, said it was clear he was the member under criticism. He explained he had just been placed in possession of important information concerning the city of Christchurch which he had at once to convey to the Prune Minister. He considered Mr Parry owed him an apology.
