ANNUAL AIFiETING
The president, Air L. Quin, presided over a large attendance of members at the Fltham Golf Club’s annual meeting held on Friday night- in the G.F.AI.S. Club rooms.
The report recorded a most successful season, with a membership of 106, including 50 ladies and 7 associate members.
inter-club matches were played with New Plymouth, Hawera, Waitara, Stratford, Tie Ngutu, Mangamingi and Patea clubs, and many keenly contested games resulted, the club having quite its share of success. Challenges were received from New Plymouth, Hawera and Stratford clubs for the Sealield Cup, all of which were successful ly withstood.
The second annual tournament was held in June, and despite the weather which was not altogether good, a large entry was received, and a net profit of £23 0s 8d resulted. The chairman thanked all members lor their help to the committee and looked forward to continued success in the future The election of officers resulted; President, Air L. Abbott; captain, Air. J. H. Aiorton; vice-captain, Air H. Casey; committee, Alessrs. H. Gibson, J. McKay and R. Free; secretary, Air F. Clemow. Handicappers appointed were: Alessrs. H. Casey, L. Abbott and b. Quin A notice of motion brought forward by Air Aiorton to reduce the ladies’ summer golf subscriptions to 10s 6d instead of £1 Is, which was fixed at the last general meeting, was duly passed. it was agreed that £2 2s be donated to the N.Z. Ladies’ Golf Union to help send the two New Zealand ladv golfers to England. FLTHAM LADIES’ CLUB. The Fltham Ladies’ Gblf Culb held its annual meeting on hridav might, the captain, Airs H. Casev, and C. 0. Stunners. A letter was received from the N.Z. Ladies’ Golf Union appealing to the ladies’ affiliated clubs throughout the Dominion to assist in donations to send. Aliss> O. Kay and Aliss ■R. Gaisford to compete in the British women’s open championship, at M'a.les, Flngland, in May, 1934. Mrs H. M'ills donated a trophy for the coming year’s competitions. A vote of thanks was passed to the secretary (Airs A. A. Stewart), whose past season’s work had been much appreciated.
