DIRECTOR OF TOWN PLANNING
APPOINTMENT URGED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. The immediate appointment of a director of town planning to succeed Mr J. W. Mawson was urged 'by Mr Buckley, the president, at the recent annual meeting of the New Zealand Town Planning Institute in preparation for the resumption of immigration from England. Mr Buckley said that steps should be taken for orderly development and settlement and no better or more fruitfur work than this could bo. given the 500 surveyors, engineers and architects jyho were now forced by circumstances to do pick and shovel work.
