Mr Nolan said he did not- think that a better name could be found, and though the name Egmont District was not very well known throughout New Zealand, this was due to the ignorance of the public at a distance, who would by degrees become better acquainted with the district to which the name was applicable lix proposing, as an amendment, that the name be Patea District As-| sociation, Mr Hamilton said that Well-! ington people spoke of Patea for cattle and sheep, and did not know where Egmont district was.
