PARIS, Nov. 5. Impressive scenes were witnessed at Lourdes, where 10,000 war veterans prayed before the grotto of the Virgin at a. pilgrimage organised by priests who ministered to soldiers an wartime. Some who were scatheless were merely fulfilling battlefield vows. The majority were sufferers from gas and shellshock, some being beyond any aid that could be rendered at Lourdes. The Archbishop of Lille celebrated pontifical Mass in the open air.
