BURNING OF MOTOR CAR. SUPREME COURT CHARGE. (By Telegraph—Prese Association.} WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. Found guilty recently of attempting to obtain £IOO by false pretences from an insurance company in connection, with the burning of his motor-car, John Phillips came before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, to-day and was ordered to come up for sentence within 18 months if called on. His Honour said if it appeared that the prisoner was responsible for the firing, of the car and the removal of parts he would not hesitate to pass a sentence of imprisonment. The costs of the case amounted to £35, and lie ordered the prisoner to pay in 12 monthly instalments.
