ENGINE FAILS OVER LONDON LANDING ON CROWDED PARK FORTUNATE ESCAPES FROM DEATH. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. 1 Received 1.30 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Nov. 2. When the engine of a Bulldog freighter failed over London Ithe pilot •was horrified to find that the only landing place was Streatham Common, on -which four hundred people were congregated, including, many children in perambulators. The difficulty was intensified when he saw ithe people scattering in all directions, failing to Understand his landing signal. On'e woman drew a baby’s attention to the approaching machine. The baby shouted with glee jurt as the machine landed and swerved violently to avoid the perambulator. The machine overturned and was wrecked, but the pilot was not hurt.
