MANAIA GARDEN PARTY

SUCCESSFUL CHURCH FUNCTION. A very successful garden party was held at the Mauaia manse on Tuesday last. The garden was gay with many bright flowers. The party was organised by the P.W.M.IT. and a large number of people from all parts of the parish attended and took part in the various games and competitions arranged for their entertainment. Airs. Meuli senr. won a ringing the bell competition and Mrs. J. Clague a croquet trail competition, Mrs. McDonald a miniature golf, event, Miss !. Walker a string winding race, and Miss M. limes an egg and spoon race Afternoon tea was served on the lawn. The Rev. R„ Miller, before calling on Miss Stoddart to present the prizes for the competitions, thanked the people for their attendance and hoped the large number present showed an added interest in the most important work of missions The freewill offering amounted to £l3 for the missionary work of the church.
