The barque Parma, which sailed for Australia on October 4, has not been spoken since. A seaman’s body, wearing a lifebelt from the Parma was washed ashore at Deauville on October 28. It apparently had been in the water about twenty-five days. The Parma carried itwo passengers — Commander Bircham, who is seeking sailing data for the Admiralty, and his wife.
The agents do not fear for the safety of the Parma. They think the body may have been washed overboard and not rescued~owing to rough, seas.
