CENTRAL DIVLSION GAMES. OPENING OF SHIELD COM- . PETITION. Shield bowling matches in the Central Division competition were commenced yesterday for the 1933-34 season. The greens everywhere were in excellent order after the rain on Wednesday, and the games were played in ideal weather. Stratford No. 1 and Eltham No. 1 played l at Stratford, where Stratford won by a margin of 20 points. Two rinks from the Avon Club visited Tariki, but although one won the other was well beaten by the home four, the total scores being Tariki 55, Avon 42. ,
By 122 to 108 Stratford No. 2 team defeated Eltham No. 2 team at Eltham.
At the Avon green Inglewood was defeated, 131 points to 102.
