EARTHQUAKE AT HAWERA
EARLY MORNING SHOOK. SOUTH TO NORTH MOVEMENT. An earth tremor, with a swaying south to north movement, was felt at Hawera shortly after 5.15 o’clock this morning. No damage resulted. ORIGIN IN COOK STRAIT. SLIGHT DAMAGE T,O CHIMNEYS. /Bv TeWrnpn— Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. An earthquake, classed at Kclbur/i es between five and six on the rossi--for cl scale, occurred, at Wellington at. 5.16 o’clock this morning. The cpi-' centre was given as 40 miles from Wellington in Cook Strait. Slight damage is reported to three chimneys.
