JOURNALIST RELEASED

CASE OF NOEL PANTER EXPELLED EEOM GERMANY. . FURTHER. STAY UNDESIRABLE. (United Press Association-By Electrio Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2.30 p.m. to-day. BERLIN, Nov. 1. Mr. Noel Panter, the British journalist, is to be released and expelled from Germany. The State Attorney’s Department at Leipzig is not seeing the cause of the prosecution, though it considers Ranter’s further stay in Germany is undesirable.

Mr Panter, the Munich correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph,” was arrested .for writing a report of Herr Hitler’s review of 20,000 -Storm Troops at Ivelheim, alleging giving it a baseless military significance. Describing the review, he opened by stating : “Deeper significance attaches to this military display than either the Chancellor or Nazi" lieutenants desire the outer world to know.” He mentioned the orders issued to the Press to avoid everything that might represent the celebrations as of a military character. In particular they were not to mention firing salutes, the inspection of the ranks by the ehief-of-staff, or the participation of the Reichswehr. He added that particular anxiety was felt lest the British and French Press should become “perturbed” by the day’s events. Panter proceeded to describe the inspection, the salute of 21 . guns fired by cannon on Herr Hitler’s arrival. Again, at the end of Herr Hitler’s speech, lie- gave other details showing essentially the military character of the proceedings.
