PHYSICAL CULTURE NOT TOO OLD AT 58. (Letter No. 46.) Ketemarae. Road, ' R.D., Hawera, 12/10/33. Dear Mr Jarrett, — It gives mo pleasure to pen these few lines. As you are aware, I had been for many weeks an inmate of the Hawera Public Hospital suffering from crushed ribs received while playing hockey. At my then ago, 58 years, it gave me a severe shake, after which a nervous breakdown occurred. While in hospital a patient in the same ward told me what you had done for his sons, urging me to consult you. This I did, with the full approval of Dr. C., also Dr. 8., who said you would l do me a lot of good; in fact, I thought I would never be able to work again, but after several months’ treatment with exercises under your tuition I j gradually grew stronger and am now able to. follow my usual occupation. I have no reason for regrets, as I am now feeling bettor than I have done for years. It may interest you to know that while oil holiday I came across a factory manager whom you taught nearly thirty years ago, who is still an enthusiast, doing his exercises daily. I am not sorry that I followed the doctor’s advice and went to you, as I found it is never too late to learn. All young people should take a few terms. —I remain, yours faithfully, S.J.B.
