RED CROSS SOCIETY

HAWERA BRANCH MEETING. DONATIONS ACKNOWLEDGED. The Hawera branch of the New Zealand Red. Cross Society held its monthly mooting in the lied’ Cross rooms on Friday last. There were present Mesdames Stevens, King, Shaw, Veitch, Gerrard and Mr Wm. Shaw. Owing to the absence of Mr E. K. Cameron the chair was taken by Mr Shaw. Donations to the society were gratefully acknowledged from Mr and Mrs J. E. Campbell, Mr V. Warner and Mrs Harding. The subject of the first aid tent was discussed, and it was decided that the tent he bought out of accumulated funds. These are not quite sufficient, but it was hoped that extra funds would soon be forthcoming. It was decided that a progressive bridge and five hundred evening in aid of funds be held in the Rewa Tea Rooms on Monday, November 27.
