On their way from Wanganui to-day to take part in exhibition matches at New Plymouth the English lawn tennis stars at present on a tour of the Dominion arrived in Hawera in time for luncheon at the Central Hotel and resumed their journey this afternoon. The party from Wanganui consisted of the three tourists, Messrs H. G N. Lee (captain), F. J. Perry, and F. H. D. Wilde, R. H. Leece (Hawera), delegate to the Taranaki Lawn Tennis Association, and G. H. Powna.il (Vanganui), president of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association, together with the manager of the tour (Mr. N. A. Foden), a member of the management committee of the New Zealand Law n Tennis Association. . Mr. Perry loads the team, and lus appearance in New Zealand is the child centre of interest because ol the fact that He represents the highest class of world tennis and, with Austin was mainlv instrumental in winning the Davis Cup for Britain, a feat which previously had not. been aceonr nlislied bv representatives oi the did Country since 1912.
