AFRICAN IMPORT PLAN POWER GIVEN TO BOARD. WEEKLY REVIEW INTENDED. (United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph Copyright.) Received 1.15 p.m to-day. CAPE TOWN. Oct. 18. In consequence of the shortage of butter the Government is to agree to the control hoard importing 6000 caseSj one week’s normal requirements. It is estimated that stocks will he reduced by the end of October to 400,000 pounds. The position will be reviewed weekly. Imported butter will be sold at the port of landing at Is 6d per lb and retailed at 2s 3d. The drought has broken in the cattle districts, but the shortage of butter will continue for some time.
