OTAGO BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL
NEW RECTOR APPOINTED. NTT; HAROLD P. KIDSON. (By Telegraph--Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Oct. 18. It was decided at the monthly meeting of the Otago High Schools Board of Governors to appoint Mr Harold P. Kidson, M.A., B.Sc., principal of the Hutt Valley High School, to the position of rector of OtagO' Boys’ High School' in place of Mr W. J. Morrell, M.A., who is retiring. Twenty-two applications. were received for the position, including two from' England and one from Australia,. Mr Kidson was born at Nelson in 1887 and was educated at Nelson College. He took his degree of M.A. with honours at Canterbury College and later his B.Sc. In 1910 he was assistant master at Nelson College, was on the staff of the Christchurch Boys’ High School in 1921, and was inspector of secondary schools in New Zealand in 1923. In 1913 he was awarded a travelling scholarship and proceeded to Europe. After studying at Paris he accepted a position in the mathematical school at Rochester, England.
