HAWERA WOMEN’S CLUB
PLAY READING- CIRCLE. An interesting play reading was given at the Hawera Women’s Club on Monday evening under the auspices of the play reading circle, of which Miss D. Corrigan is convener and organiser, 'there was a good attendance of members. The play was “Many Waters,” a drama by Monckton Hoffe, and the various characters were taken, by Miss J. Knight, Miss O. Reilly, Miss Ei. B. Young, Mrs. Powell, Miss M. Burgess, Mrs. A. Corrigan, Mrs. T. McKenzie, Mrs H. R. Kemp, Mrs. A. Thomson, Mrs. H. G. Whitehead, Mrs. A. Iv. North, and Mrs. P. O. Veale. The stage director was Mrs. R. Page and the reading went with a fine swing, everyone on the cast showing a keen appreciation of the character portrayed and the clever dialgoue.
