(From Our Own Correspondent). HARD-UP BALL. The hard-up ball, held on Wednesday evening proved very successful, there bemg about 60 couples upon the floor. Prizes for costumes were won by Miss E. Booth, Okaiawa, and Mr Wilson, Ararata. Waite’s Adelpi;i Dance Orchestra, provided the music and Mr G. A. Smith played several extras. Mrs J. Rowe was in charge of the supper arrangements and Messrs' A. G. Smith and A. A. Duggan were M’s.C. The hall was decorated with greenery interspersed with flowers, and coloured streamers and bunting were suspended overhead. The floor which had been prepared by an e'nergetic band the previous night, shone like a mirror, many visitors commenting on the extreme fastness of the surface. RECORD DAIRY PRODUCTION. The Normality dairy factory has to date experienced a season of record production, there being thirteen vats at present in use, equalling the maximum at the “flush” last season. Cheeses made total 130 per day. With a number of cows in the district still to come into production, and the usual “flush” about two weeks' off, a maintenance of the high figures may 1 c expected this year.
