MANAWHENUA DEAD. ILL FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. STAKE EARNINGS £3668. AUCKLAND, Sept. 25. The racehorse Manawhenua died at EJlerslie this morning from internal trouble tie had been sick for several weeks, and although at times he appeared to he improving, he became worse on Sunday and failed to rally. Manawhenua was a six-vear-old gelding by Acre from Country Picnic, and his stake winnings amounted to £3668 6s Hd. He was raced by Mr. H. Rama, who had another trip to Australia in view until the gelding went off colon’’. —“Dominion” Service.
