A feat unique in championship golf was performed ,by Eric Fiddian playing Jack (McLean in the final of the Irish open championship at Newcastle, County Down. He twice holed out in one. In the first round he holed his tee shot at the seventh, of 128 yards, and he again holed his tee shot at the fourteenth, of 208 yards. Nevertheless McLean retained the title, 3 up and 2 to play. MARLBOROUGH TITLE PLAY. SEMI-FTNALISTS FOUND. - BLENHEIM, Sept. 25. In the Marlborough provincial golf championships W. H. Masefield set a new course record of 70. The semifinalists are E. Reid (Blenheim), J. Jeffries (Blenheim) and B. S. Trolove (South Marlborougti) and John Duncan (Wellington).
