NEW YORK, Sept. 22. The “New York Times” correspondent at Rio de Janiero says a prospector of the upper waters of the Saobento River in the State of Minas Geraes (Brazil) to-day reported finding a diamond of -540 grams, or over 2000 carats. It is appraised at 800,000 dollars and is believed to be the second largest recorded. Six other large stones, one of 400 carats, .wore also found. The total value is a, million dollars.
