A noted American amateur golfer, John G. Anderson, who died in New York recently, had won 53 golf chain-, pionships, country, .state, or national. He was twice in the final of the American amateur championship—in 1913 and 1915. He won the French open amateur championship twice, in 1924 and 1920.
