Once the rubber door buffers fitted on some cars start squeaking it is very difficult to stop them. If grease is used a cure will be effected, but. unfortunately, the grease is soon squeezed away by the continual pounding of the doors. However, by cutting a series of small slots about three-sixteenths inch deep arid one-sixteenth inch wide round the periphery of the buffers, and then applying vaseline to them, the trouble can 'be eradicated. The slots serve to hold n supply of vaseline for a considerable time.
