DELIBERATE FRAUD CENSURED
SHAREBROKER SENT TO GAOL ADMISSION OF OFFENCES. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 24. “Deliberate frauds of this nature must be prevented if possible,” said the magistrate, Mr. E'. D. Mosley, this morning in sentencing James McMillien Me Andrew, aged 51, de scribed as a sharebroker of Point Chevalier, to a year’s hard labour. Accused pleaded guilty to five charges of obtaining a total of £l3O from Francis Elizabeth Haste, by falsely representing that he was the owner of a farm at Chertsev. McAndrew also admitted stealing £2O from Charles Alexander McKay by failing to account for money to the Bell Hill Gold Sluicing Co., Ltd. MeAndrew is already serving a sentence.
