At the annual' meeting of members of the Eltham Public Library on Thursday evening the following were elected the committee: Mcssts R. H. Gover (chairman), E. L. Egarr (secretary). T -T. Bridget', G. H. Mann, A. Chrystal, H. .T. Drabble, A. W. Packard, Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, Mesdames D. :Syme, Peakes and Wilson. Mesdames Wilson and iSyme and Mr Gover was appointed a selection committee. In aid of St. Mary’s Church annual flower show a “bring and buy” afterniooin was held on Wednesday at Mrs M. Oramp's home in- Albion Street, Hawera. The function was organised by Mes~ dam-os R. Campbell and- B. Smart, aind was moist successful!, over fifty being present. Mesdames Olapham amd Nicholas assisted with th-e afternoloon tica. An attractive programme was contributed by Mrs W. G. Sthalnge and! Mris J. C. Robb (recitations), chtlidmani from Taiwhiti -School (.choruses) a.nd little Elizabeth Campbell (recitation). Mrs H. T. Lovell gave a travel' talk on! a four to it Ire United 1 States'. A novel competition, was tied for by Mrs Holloway and Mrs F. A.
