Headed by the band of the Grenadier Guards playing war-time songs, 1100 survivors of the '‘contemptible little army,” assembled fioni all parts ■of the British Isles, marched t-o the Cc-notaph. where they placed a wreath m memory ot their comrades who fell in all. parts of the world. Three holders of the Victoria Cross carried the wreath. An omnibus “Old Bill” brought up the rear carrying permanently disabled soldiers.
