COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.
An interesting social function took place at the residence of Mr and Mrs 11. Jordan, of Mata, last week, when the twenty-first ’ birthday of their daughter Ruby was celebrated. The cake, decorated with 21 candles, was cut by the young lady and she was presented with a handsome rosehowl by her friends. A euchre tourney was won by Mr K. Kennedy, a statue waltz by Miss G. Gigham and Mr E. Trolove and a quoits contest by Mr R-. Janies. Recitations were given by Miss G. Bigliam and piano duet by Misses Pitcaithlcy, the latter leading a community sing. Supper concluded a jolly evening. EUCHRE AND DANCE SOCIAL. In the hull a cuclire party was held on Friday, the winners being Mrs G. Tippler and Mrs J. 'Williams and Messrs R. Burke and B. Lee. At the dance afterwards Monte Carlos were won by Miss E. Laird and Mr E. Bootten and by Miss M. Martin and Mr B. Campbell, and statue waltz by Miss M. Jordan and Mr R. Stewart. The music was played by Miss E. Old and Mr C. AGncent, extras being contributed by Mrs W. Bennett (Normanbv). the M.C. was Mr R, Trolove.
