LEVEL OF GREAT OCCASIONS
SOME PEOPLE FAIL TO RISE. COMMENT BY MR. HULL. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2A5 r p.m. to-day.
LONDON, June 9. The leader of the American delegation, Mr. Cordell Hull, questioned by 40 American and British pressmen in reference to his reported use of the term “Irish Republic” at Cork, said he had been conferring for months with Free State representatives. He regretted that some people failed to rise to the level of a great occasion, but sought to divert attention by little side considerations. Ho refused to discuss war debts on the grounds that they were not included in the conference agenda.
