COURT PROCESSES IMITATED
USED FOR. DEBT COLLECTIONS. FINE OF £7 IMPOSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 9. William Edward Allison was charged to-day with selling documents in imitation of judicial processes. DetectiveSergeant Revell said defendant had written to the police forwarding a plea oi guilty to the Court. The charge was laid under section 20: of the Police Qffences Act, which provided a maximum penalty of £2O. Defendant had a number of documents printed in Christchurch, headed as a final notice of intention to proceed in. the local court for recovery of a debt. . Defendant had canvassed New Zealand with these and people had been prosecuted for sending them out. t “We know nothing about this man,” said Detective Revell. “We have not had an opportunity of interviewing him apart from serving the summons.”
The magistrate imposed a fine of £o on the first charge and £2 on the second charge.
