“HERITAGE OF THE DESERT.”
“Heritage of the Desert,’ - Zane G rev’s newest Paramount action romance of the American West, shows finally to-night at the Grand Theatre. The large cast appearing in the production is headed by Randolph Scott, Sally Plane and J. Farrell MacDonald. The story is set on the ranch owned by MacDonald, an old patriarch, vho rules with & hi nelly hand. David. Landau, head of a gang of outlaws, has his eye on the ranch and on Miss Blane, daughter of Macpomd’s dead partner. His son, he plans, will many her. Meanwhile Scott, a young; surveyor arrives to check the boundaries of* MacDonald’s ranch. He discovers that Landau and MacDonald’s son have had dealings—the latter, a- weak character, is in debt to the outlaw. Scott falls in love with the girl, and •she reciprocates. When the MacDon-ald-Landau feud,conies to a head with the slaying of MacDonald’s son, Scott distingirislies himself so thoroughly that ire wins a permanent place m MacDonald's heart —and in Miss Blane’s, too. An excellent supporting programme includes an episode of “Air Mail Mystery.”
