SOUTHERN DIVISION GAMES SATURDAY’S MATCHES MATA PC’S 1 TALL SCORE. Tiio .southern division of the Taranaki basket-ball -competition was advanced a further stage oil Saturday, all matches being played as arranged, despite adverse weather. Results were as follow :

Matapu 15 v. Convent Old Girls 1. -High School Old 'Girls A 5 v. High School Old Girl's B 3. Okaiawa. A 1(5 v. Ma.iia.ia- 5. Okaiawa. B, a bye. In a school game Elth-am beat Matapu by 8 goals 'to 2. On Saturday, at Matapu, Convent Old Girls were decisively beaten by the Matapu Basketball team. The ground was in a very bad state owing to the rough weather, and the first spell was played in the rain, making the play very difficult for both teams. The superior combination of the home team was largely responsible for its decisive win, the final score being 15 goals to .one. After the game tlm visitors were entertained to afternoon tea.
