OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT
ALLEGED IRISH BREACHES. PAIR TO STAND TRIAL. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) " Received 2.15 p.m. to-day. DUBLIN, Feb. 26. Colonel Michael Hogan and Inspector Edward O’Connell have been committed for trial on charges of breaches of the Official 1 Secrets Act. They reserved their defence.
A London message of February 17 stated: Colonel Michael Hogan, of the Free State Army and brother of the ex-Minister of Agriculture, and also Inspector Edward O’Connell, of the Crimes Branch of the Civic Guards, were remanded at Dublin to-day on six charges unaer the Official Secrets Act. Detective Carbery said O'Connell gave him documents marked “very secret” to address to Hogan, without letting Chief Detective Broy know. Detective Carbery handed them to the chief next day, though he afterwards told O’Connell he had left them at the barracks for Hogan.
