HAWERA DEFEAT'S STRATFORD. VISIT OF FIVE RINKS. Weather and green conditions at Stratford on Saturday were ideal for the visit of five rinks from the Jlawcra Bowling Club, the latter enjoying a somewhat easy victory by 14(5 points to 93.

SINGLES 'CHAMPIONSHIP. PARK CLUB FINAL. During the week-end the singles championship of the Park (Hawera) Climb was decided in favour of W. Thomas, who beat T. Hotter in the final.

SHIELD COMPETITION. NORTHERN DIVISION FINAL. Shield bowling matches in the northern division competition were concluded on Saturday, when Fi'tzrov secured two wins over Urenui and Awakino respectively and won the premiership of the northern division. The rink will play on Thursday against. Eltham, the central winners, on one of the New Plymouth greens. Results were as follow: Fire Brigade 111 v. Vogel town f>7; Fitzroy S 7 v. Urenui 47; Fitzroy (iff v. Awakino 29; Waitnra 148 v. New Plymouth 147.
