Soldiers in groups of five a;t intervals of 100 yards are pa troll mg the main streets of Bucharest, states the Vienna correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” 'Th'e whole of Rumania is seething with discontent. The death roll in the workshops fighting is now 30 and the workshops are garrisoned bv troops. ' Queen Marie is reported to have advised her son- King 'Carol to abdicate in favour of young Prince Michael, hut he refuses, declaring his complete faith in the army. ■Many workers’ homes have been searched and arrests made. The Government is preparing a Bill providing for the militarisation of the whole railway system.
