HAWERA SWIMMING CLUB
ELECTRIC LIGHT CARNIVAL. HANDICAPS DECLARED. One of the most attractive programmes arranged by the Hawera. Swimming C-luh for a. number of years will be presented at the Municipal Baths in Hawera to-morrow (Thursday) evening, commencing promptly at 8 o’clock. There are 22 events and large entries have been received, particularly in the 50 yards men’s handicap, in' which there are 49 competitors in eight heats. The principal event, however, will be the final of the Tara'naki 440 yards championship between H. St. George, C. McLean, and L. Parker (all of Fitzroy, New Plymouth), A. Robson (Stratford) and A. Ryan and J. Blyth (Hawera). St. George held the title last year and an exciting race is anticipated. There will be three polo matches—Eltham v. Hawera, Inglewood v.
