Ihe policy which Australia and Canada adopted was a po! icy of sanity. “You were wedded to free trade as chough it were a. god,” Mr. Bruce con•htded, “but wo. were wedded to protection as though it were a super-god. The arrangements made at Ottawa are roing to mean reciprocal arrangements inch as we have never dreamed of in the past.”
