Damage In New South Wales SERIOUS LOSSES OF STOCK Valuable Horses Killed MANY WINDOWS SMASHED WATER TANKS PERFORATED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 12.30 p.m to-day. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. Railway communication with the South Coast was resumed at midnight, use being made of a single-track in the damaged sections. Washouts are still delaying traffic with the North Coast and other systems and the Mossvnle — Oort Kembla line is still closed. Serious fosses of sheep,- cattle, pigs and poultry are reported from country centres. A number of valuable horses were killed by lightning at Uarellan. Terrifying hailstorms and a cyclonic wind at Narrabri smashed hundreds of windows. Huge hailstones also perforated water tanks.
QUEENSLAND AREAS FLOODED BREAKING OF DRY SPELL. MORE RAIN NEEDED IN PARTS. Received 1 p.m. to-day. BRISBANE, Jan. 25. Though the Condamine River has fallen the water is still over the railway at Pampas. Pilot Brain, a Quantas airman, reports he flew through a storm from Alice Springs to Longreach. Much of the e-round was covered with water. A dry spell was broken bv a heavy thunderstorm in the south-west districts, but further rain is needed to save Winton farms from a desperate plight.
