TARANAKI OPEN TOURNEY i RESULTS FOR SECOND DAY 1!. BOULTON'S UNBEATEN RECORD. Weather and green conditions were ideal tor the second day’s bowling in the Taranaki Centre open tournament and some splendid games were witnessed, many heads changing as each bowl was delivered. R. Boulton (West End Club) was the only skip whose team survived the day undefeated. At the close of the first day’s play there were seven undefeated teams, . but yesterday’s play saw six of them receive at least one defeat. So Jar as the South Taranaki rinks were concerned T. Cork ill (Ha were) defeated A. C. Evans (Vogeltown) by 7 points and \V. Harris by 12 points.! At West End in the first round Lobb i had no trouble in defeating S'koglundj (Stratford) by 9 points with one head to go. A. C. Smith (Park) also had an easy win. Araess against Blackie (Waverley) had a close call. After lending IS—<> on the 12th head lie scored a two to win by a point and a close struggle saw Blackie beat Mason (Park) by one point on the 22nd head. A. Dickinson (Avon) obtained his first win when he easily defeated Casey (Eltharn) by. 12 points with one head to go, whilst W. Healy (Vogeltown) gained his first win, easily de[feating Wilson (Opunake). Casey in the fifth round pulled up on the last ' two heads to add five and defeat McLeod 22 —11), after being down 11 —1 m the early stages. V. Beal (West End) went on his winning way, defeating J. Wilson (Opunake) 18—1 G after being down 11—o- on the 10th head. At a. meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Bowling Centro last evening it was decided to play post-section semi-finals and finals of the open tournament oil the Vogeltown green.
