Hird, a cricketer who is regarded as a. fine all-rounder and potential test match player, has accepted an offer to join the Lancashire league. Pie will sail in March. He made a century against the South Africans and played for New South Wales against the Englishmen, when he took six wickets. He also lias excellent bowling averages in shield matches.
