DEATH OF ACCUSED ALAN. POISON TAKEN IN' CELL. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 17. The alleged killer of Walter Spatchebt, Samuel James Furnace, whose arrest ended one of the most interesting man hunts in the history of English crime, died of poisoning in his cell last night. His wife was present and a. detective was at the bedside trying to make sense of .Furnace’s incoherent cries. The police are mystified how Furnace concealed the poison. He was stripped and his clothes were. thoroughly searched.
