In the Police Court to-day William Frederick Leahy was charged with negligently driving a motor car, thereby causing the death of Clement- Baldwin Gregg at Karioi on Saturday last. Sergeant Sivyer said that from police inquiries it had been ascertained that accused "when driving a ear on. ‘Saturday night had a collision _ at Karioi and also that he liacl driven away, leaving a body on the roadside. Accused was remanded to appear at Wanganui pn December 14. Bail was allowed in a personal recognisance of .-€10!) and two sureties of £IOO each.
