The electrical ray timing; apparatus, which has been in general use on. the. principal greyhound tracks oi England for several years, is now being used to time horse races. When the barrier risers the timing instrument is set in motion by electrical contact. It stops when the winning horse breaks a rav of light projected from the judge’s ■ box on to the winning post.
