CANCELLED OIL CONCESSION
ANGLO-P'ERSI AN COMPANY SEIMOUS VIEW IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dee. 5. The action of the Persian Government in cancelling the Anglo-Pensian Oil Company’s concession on November 27 Avas the subject of several questions in Parliament. Mr R. A. Eden (Foreign Undersecretary), replying, said the British Government was fully aware: .of all the mrc am stances, including the fact that the concession was definitely granted for GO years from 1901 and contained no provision for cancellation. On December - the British Minister at Teheran made very strong representations to the Persian Government and emphasised the serious view field bv the British Government.
While it was still hoped the matter might lie amicably setled, Mr Eden said, the British Government Arnold not hesitate in case, of need t» take all legitimate measure to protect its just and indisputable interests.
