FIRE AT MANAIA
* : SMART SAVE BY BRIGADE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Manaia fire bell sounded shortly after midnight last night, when fire was discovered at the residence of Mr. W. H. Robinson in the township. The. fire brigade, under Superintendent White, was soon on the scene and extinguished the fire before extensive damage was caused. The fire originate cl in tlio ceil in *ol n room nnu burnt the side of the wall from the mantelpiece to the ceiling, but owing to the prompt response by the brigade serious spreading of the flames uas checked.
