Perry Bell and William Kilgour, since they istruck.it rich at Cromwell, have had manv visitors and progress consequently lias been slow. The men have not had the opportunity of getting out any quantity of dirt, but loz. to the dish has not been an uncommon return. On Thursday, for a broken day—one of the partners being absent all the morning—the wash-up was 9oz. ISdwt. making a total for three days of 20£oz. The miners hive now wisely decided that in future visitors will not be admitted. “This continual entertaining of visitors is delaying our work,” said Mr Bell yesterday. “Our output is not what it could be and we are handling less than half the dirt we should be.”
