The standing Democrats number 314, the Republicans 116, and the Farme-r-Labour 5, making the total of 435. The Democratic gain in the election was four while the Republicans loss s 97. The Democrats will have a major-, itv of 22 in the Senate, having elected 28 compared with six bv the Republicans. The new Senate will consist of 57 Democrats, 36 Republicans, and oiio Farmer-Labom.
